Music Choice, the award-winning, multi-platform video and music network, announces the launch of "Who Runs Hip-Hop," its first-ever four part weekly VOD-isodes airing on its On Demand network and its broadband music site in April.  The series, exclusively brought to you by Boost Mobile, explores the issues and forces shaping the direction of hip-hop music. Topics like the debate over the decline in record sales, why some veteran hip-hop artists aren't getting any love, and how the fans determine who they support in today's hip-hop climate are all discussed.  Hip-hop artists, music industry executives, music label executives, managers, the media, and the fans on the street all share their views regarding who runs hip-hop today.  This special series accompanies a long list of Original thematic video programming in April on Music Choice as part of its:  "We Love Hip-Hop:  A Celebration of Hip-Hop Music" month.

“Our viewers want fresh, relevant content on the VOD platform,” says Damon Williams, VP of Programming at Music Choice.  “Our weekly four part series, ‘Who Runs Hip Hop,’ was created to establish Music Choice as the network to deliver what viewers want to keep them coming back for more. Having Boost Mobile, a brand and phone service our viewers like and use, associated with the series just adds to our excitement!”

The schedule for "Who Runs Hip-Hop" is as follows -

"The Biz" - Week 1 - The first in the VOD-isodes explores the challenges labels and artists are having creating Hip-Hop music in the ever-changing music business.   Who is shaping the direction of Hip-Hop music today - the labels or the artists?    Week 1 features Snoop Dogg exclaiming, "I run Hip-Hop.  Don't nobody run me!" (Airing 3/31/08 thru 4/30/08)

"The Streetz" - Week 2 - Looks at what fans want - do lyrics matter anymore - how do the fans determine who makes it, and who doesn't.  In week 2, 50 Cent explains, "(The artists) gotta feel the energy generated from the street." (Airing 4/7/08 thru 5/4/08)
