On this date in 1981, Bow Wow Wow released their debut vinyl album, See Jungle! See Jungle! Go Join Your Gang Yeah! City All Over, Go Ape Crazy! (They had a previous cassette-only release called My Cassette Pet). The album contained the singles, "Chihuahua" (#51 U.K.), "See Jungle (Jungle Boy)" (#45 U.K.), "Elimination Dancing", "Orang-Outang" and "Go Wild In The Country" (#7 U.K.). The London new wave band disbanded in 1983 but not before releasing a tremendous amount of material during their somewhat brief existence. They were managed by ex-Sex Pistols' manager Malcolm McLaren.
