Jesu Release a Bunch of Stuff, As Usual
2008-08-13 13:20:00 by Dave Maher in Pitchfork: News

Jesu captain Justin K. Broadrick continues his love affair with short formats with two new releases. The first, a new EP titled Why Are We Not Perfect?, expands upon the Jesu material from last year's split 12" with Eluvium. It features the three tracks from that release ("Farewell", "Blind and Faithless", and "Why Are We Not Perfect") plus "alternative versions" of "Farewell" and the title track. Hydra Head will release Why Are We Not Perfect? on August 19.

The second is a long-in-the-works split with Battle of Mice, out now on Robotic Empire. It's available on CD and colored vinyl, with both limited to 2000 copies.

Broadrick is also delivering on his promise of vinyl versions of Jesu's Heart Ache and Pale Sketches, as well as his side project Final's Afar picture disc. Broadrick's own Avalanche Recordings will start shipping 180-gram vinyl editions of all three records on August 22. Each Jesu record comes in an edition of 1000, while the Final pressing was limited to 500 copies.
