jim james played a pretty fetching (mostly) solo acoustic set at the newport folk festival last weekend - he was joined, for a song or three, by m. ward - and we have the audio for you below. james is one of our personal favorite vocalists & musicians and we're sure you won't be disappointed by this performance. (see the festival write-up at aquarium drunkard for confirmation of james's place in the weekend's pecking order.) also, be sure to have a listen to james's cover of gil scott-heron's "when you are who you are," which we rather quite enjoyed.
