On this date in 1982, Scritti Politti released their debut album, Songs To Remember. It contained the singles, "Sweetest Girl", "Faithless" and "Asylums In Jerusalem". The album reached the #12 spot on the U.K. albums chart. The band was really just Green Gartside and whatever musicians he invited in to record. The Leeds, England post-punk band was founded by Welsh-born Green Gartside. He was its only permanent member. The band continues on.
