Freshly Squeezed: Her Vanished Grace

When a band praises your website with incredibly kind words, sends you a copy of their promo, and then showers your ears with delightful vibrations…you realize at that moment it really is all worthwhile.

Charlie and Nance Nieland have been serving up their brand of shoegazin’ goodness for well over a decade now. Their quartet, Her Vanished Grace, recently released a new CD titled Twilight. The 10 song effort is a well-crafted mix of the best that ’80s new wave and ’90s shoegaze has to offer.

If you’re a fan of Slowdive, Ride, The Chameleons, My Bloody Valentine, etc., this is definitely one you’re going to want to check out!

“…this guitar band sounds like the Banshees’ John NcGeoch using Thurston Moore as his sonsic roadie”. - Jim Puccio, Boston Rock

“…with their shoegazer pop sound they could certainly give that other married couple, Joy Zipper, a run for their money…the band profferpowerful and emotive music full of driving rhythms and compact melodic structures.” - Jonathon Leonard, Lenoard’s Lair

“…this group takes the the soaring, textural melodicism of the Cocteau Twins and gives it a harsh industrial spin. Subverting conventional pop tunes-whose beauty is underscored by Nanc’s crystalline vocals-with feedback and sludgey guitar riffs Liz Phair might have written, the band creates something both bouyant and disturbing”. R.P., Philadelphia Weekly
