Back from Ultra Music Festival, the concert part of the Winter Music Conference held in Miami, FL. Two days and 7 stages of the greatest DJs in the world. It’s massive in every sense of the world.

BEST PART: The thing about Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Underworld, and the rest is you know they’re going to bring it (which they did of course). Therefore my vote for the best part of Ultra was Deadmou5 who surprised most everyone with a killer set (above). I think a large portion of the audience had never heard of him - this guy came from out of nowhere about a year ago. I just hope someone knows the way to get there so they can bring more DJs like this back.

WORST PART: The genius schedule maker who thought it was a keen idea to overlap Pete Tong (above) and Armin Van Buuren’s sets. I sympathize with their challenge, really I do (I mean, you’ve got Sander Van Doorn, a headliner most everywhere else, playing at 3:20 in the afternoon), but I’m gettin’ my Tong on whilst hearing Van Buuren tear it up behind me on the Main Stage. Gah!
Pics are all by me, which is why they kinda suck.
So now I’m back in Tampa trying to recover. I snagged a couple download codes for the 50 track WMC08/Ultra Music Festival collection on iTunes. First three comments below get ‘em! Remember to leave your email address so I can send you the goods.
