Who knew that a typical Sunday night could turn into such a rad dance party? The gang from the Cannonballs & Catapults Tour, that’s who. An otherwise ordinary Sunday morphed into an upbeat night of clapping, stomping and jumping around like a bunch of hooligans at the Abbey Pub in Chicago last night thanks to the irresistible poptacular beats from St. Louis’s Gentleman Auction House. GAH busted out several numbers from their latest delectable release Alphabet Graveyard, and as always, made sure their crowd had as much fun as they did with their urgent, dancey harmonies and jams. Opening up the night were Pet Lions and the Blue Ribbon Glee Club—and closing out the evening was the incredibly awesome local hip hop outfit Yea Big + Kid Static. First time seeing this duo live, my face was pretty much blown off with the shameless fun protruding from these MC’s mikes. (Seriously, spitting over the sped up theme to the Golden Girls??! Sooo rad.) Thanks to all for making my Sunday eve one I’ll not soon forget.
