PINK FLOYD - Live At Pompeii (2003) [rated 5/5 by PinkPangolin]

...Pompeii and do the same Magical, absurd, peculiar, and the ultimate ultimate self-indulgence - this is the greatest Rock film ever made, without doubt - and no audience. I wonder if the people of Naples could hear it. My only complaint is that it wasn't longer - and I just wish they had done more tracks actually at Pompeii (the ones in the...

TRIUMVIRAT - Pompeii (1977) [rated 4/5 by CCVP]

2008-01-17 15:13:39 by Editor in Progarchives.com (Progressive rock and related latest reviews)

Pompeii is, sadly, the last Triumvirat album, if you count only the prog albums, and it has a horrible sad atmosphere. Not the musics or the concept, but the whole downhill way to popish music the band went after this album Pompeii is, to me, a respectable last effort to make a good quality prog album, having only failing by having so many pop...

Pompeii - Nothing Happens For A Reason (2008)

2008-10-08 14:24:13 by Editor in Music Emissions Alternative Music Reviews

...Pompeii last left us, we were left wondering if they were quite possibly one of the most elegant and beautiful bands on Earth. Dean Stafford could write metaphors that Billy Collins wishes he could pen. His voice was simply gorgeous. So, when we arrive to the sophomore album, Nothing Happens For A Reason , I went to press play and was...

PINK FLOYD - Meddle (1971) [rated 4/5 by Tom Ozric]

...Pompeii' for hire - me, thinking that it was Floyd performing 'The Wall' I got my Dad to hire it out. I wasn't to know that the Pompeii video was from 71/72 and not 1979/80, as was 'The Wall'. I was greeted with the most amazing music I've ever heard with 'Echoes' (Part 1, the first half) - I just didn't know what it was I was hearing....It...

...Pompeii by impulse (and under the influence of a review in an old 70's brazilian rock magazine). Although the first track and the instrumental ones are very good, the album as a whole sounded too cheesy to my ears. Some years after that I found a copy of Spartacus in my local second-hand albums' seller and bought it moved solely by the...

...Pompeii" . It truly is a clever, multi-faceted piece of music. Both in its sound design and lyrics. Intstrumentally, the intro cleverly teases the listener with what appears to be the strains of Gary Glitter's anthem "Rock & Roll" (hey!) but then quickly switches gears as Lisa begins to sing . . . "the sh*t hits the town, when the Chrysler...

...Pompeii was not Triumvirats best, but it was good and certainly a prog record. This one is anything but. Try to imagine Genesis releasing Invisible Touch after A Trick Of The Tail! The difference is the fact that A La Carte is way worse than Invisible Touch Not that this album is too bad per se: obviously all the musicians are skilled and the...
